michael Groves
Mr. Groves has been a litigator in both State and Federal Courts
for 32 years. During that time he has conducted over 40 trials to
verdict in a wide variety of subject matters, including civil
rights, police conduct, employment, constitutional rights and
personal injury.
He began his legal career in 1979 at the San Francisco law firm of
Eliassen and Postel, eventually rising to partner in 1985. From 1989
until 2011, when he joined the firm of Stubbs and Leone, Mr. Groves
was a trial lawyer for the San Jose City Attorney’s Office. In that
role he tried many high profile cases involving police shootings,
civil rights, alleged reverse discrimination in promotion, claimed
dangerous conditions and catastrophic injuries.
Mr. Groves graduated in 1973 from San Francisco State University
Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Political Science. He then attended and
graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law in
1978.
