Melinda Leong

Melinda Leong was born and raised in the Bay Area.  Upon graduating from Castro Valley High School, she attended Georgetown University and the London School of Economics, graduating cum laude from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Service in 1998.  Ms. Leong received her Juris Doctorate from the University of California at Davis, School of Law in 2004.  While in law school, Ms. Leong was Articles Editor on the U.C. Davis Law Review.  She also served as Judicial Extern to the Honorable John T. Noonan, Jr., United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. 

Prior to joining Stubbs & Leone, Ms. Leong served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Peter H. Carroll, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.  Thereafter, she was an Associate at Best Best & Krieger LLP, where she litigated cases on issues including: the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the Clean Water Act, and related state claims, as well as breach of contract. Ms. Leong has also litigated matters involving public entities. 

Ms. Leong belongs to the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California.  She is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Central, Eastern, and Northern Districts, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
