ANDREA MAKELY RITIGSTEIN
Andrea Makely Ritigstein was raised in Alamo,
California. She graduated from the University of California at Los
Angeles with a degree in Political Science in 1993, then received
her law degree from American University, Washington College of Law
in Washington, D.C. in 1996.
Ms. Ritigstein began her legal career as an attorney at Baker and
Hostetler, LLP, in Los Angeles, practicing intellectual property
litigation on behalf of major motion picture studios. After several
years in private practice, Ms. Ritigstein made the transition to
in-house positions, first at Concorde-New Horizons, and later at Fox
Television Studios. At Fox, she negotiated and drafted numerous
employment, talent and distribution agreements, and advised
executives and talent as to the requirements of various union
agreements.
Ms. Ritigstein returned to Northern California in 2003, and expanded
her practice to include the representation of numerous mid-sized
businesses in connection with civil litigation in state and federal
court. She has significant experience in all aspects of civil
litigation from case inception through trial preparation. She has
managed case strategy and discovery in connection with complex
litigation in state and federal court, has drafted and argued
various motions, taken and defended numerous depositions of lay and
expert witnesses, and participated in mediations.
Ms. Ritigstein was admitted to the California State Bar in 1996 and
is admitted to practice before all California state courts, as well
as the federal district courts for the Northern, Eastern, Central
and Southern districts of California.
